Kayla's Margaritas

Writer's picture: Kelly HickmanKelly Hickman

These are my Mom's margaritas.

Neither of my parents are particularly heavy drinkers, but my Mom loves her margaritas boozy! My Dad used to (and I guess still does) joke that he needs to water his margaritas down before drinking.

I am not a drinker, so any time I try this I am overwhelmed with the waste of alcohol, but I take it from my Mom and my Grandmother that these are good margs and perfect for the hot hot hot days of summer!

My Mom's favorite trick is to keep mugs in the freezer so that the glass mugs are cold when she goes to make the drink. It helps the drink to freeze better. My mom refuses to accept that margaritas can come as not frozen. So you should definitely try these frozen, though I'm sure they're great not frozen too!

To make it literally mix all the ingredients together, pour either in a pitcher or in your glass and freeze it.

If you freeze it in the glass then before you pour the drink in, run a lime around the edge and dip the glass in salt, if not do it before you pour the frozen drink in.

Enjoy!
